2026 · UCORE TECHNOLOGY INTERNSHIP

Automatic Mountain Hazard Detection and Alerting System

An end-to-end, training-free monitoring and alerting system that uses pretrained models to identify multiple types of mountain and roadside hazards—including cracks, debris, mudslide deposits, fallen trees, and slope failures—from fixed CCTV feeds. Its versatile design allows the same workflow to screen for different hazards. The system was deployed across two operational camera sites, adopted by an external client, and is being developed into an academic paper with my supervising professor.

Automatic Animal Detection and Deterrent System

A cat-and-dog detection system built around an AMB82 Mini camera and a fine-tuned YOLO11 model. Confirmed detections activate repeller hardware, log the event, and send an annotated alert to the operator.

What the videos show: when a cat or dog is detected, the system activates the repeller channel configured for that animal. Each channel emits a different sound frequency, which is visualised by the frequency-analyser app shown on the phone.

Microcontroller Game Console

A two-device console with an STM32 controller sending joystick and button input over HC-05 Bluetooth to an ESP32 driving an ST7789 display. It runs Tetris, Snake, and an MCQ quiz, tracks high scores, and controls a servo reward dispenser.

Grocery Sales Dashboard

An interactive Excel dashboard for a grocery retailer, combining linked sheets, data models, PivotTables, slicers, filters, and charts. The product analysis covers profit, shelf-life risk, stock status, product categories, and supplier performance.

The project used a dataset supplied by Singapore Polytechnic; its real or synthetic status was not specified.

I enjoy work that connects the physical and digital worlds—where sensors, software, models, and people all have to work together.

I’m completing a Diploma in Computer Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic. My overseas R&D experience in Taiwan strengthened my independence, technical communication, and ability to learn unfamiliar technologies through research and experimentation.

I’m especially interested in computer vision and practical engineering systems that address real-world needs.
